Our “Passport to the Past” activities are hands-on historical fun and education for the whole family.

Covered Bridge Festival, October 10 & 11, 2015
Passport to the Past at the Historical Complex during Covered Bridge Festival weekend brings history to life all weekend throughout the complex. For the 46th Annual Covered Bridge Festival in 2015, Visit us from 9:00 to 5:00 on Saturday and Sunday, October 10th and 11th, to enjoy:
Free horse and wagon rides
Old fashioned school lessons at the Tusha school
Field mercantile and penny candy sales
Tours of the Bevington-Kaser Mansion and Museum
A Civil War encampment with battles
Also, join us for a nighttime Civil War Cannon firing at 6:45 pm on Saturday, October 10th. Enjoy s’mores, a bonfire, and family fun! Bring lawn chairs or a blanket.
An Old Fashioned Christmas
In December, we host our annual visit from Santa.
Our former Passport to the Past Garage Sale became a Barn Sale in 2015. Held in the spacious McKee Barn, there were treasures for everyone! Proceeds from this event help fund our Passport to the Past activities.
Junkfest on the Hill
Madison County Historical Complex is the perfect backdrop for a great collection of re-purposed, up-cycled, and vintage goods of all kinds. Get new ideas for how to make “new” from “old”!
